PRESS RELEASE – Following on the heels of last year’s massive success with headliners, musical giants, Kassav, the Soufriere Foundation again presents a stellar line up for Soufriere Creole Jazz 2015.Heading the line up for the May 1, 2015 show is Jamaican reggae artiste Jah Cure.
Jah Cure may not visit the Booth as frequently as we’d like (his last feature was way back in October 2010) but, when he does, reader acclaim consistently follows.
Though two tracks could hardly have been more different than his previous features the heartstring-tugging Unconditional Love and the unapologetically gangsta As I See It both earned the Kingston repper rave reviews—and I have a feeling that his latest effort will only reinforce the trend.
The lead single off Jah’s sixth LP, Nothing Is Impossible finds the artist returning to the inspirational themes of his Booth debut.
Backed by DJ Wayne‘s production, a pensive blend of piano, synths and understated percussion, the reggae vet offers some “real talk” to “all the children of the world,” assuring the latest generation that they have the strength to achieve whatever they set their sights on.
Another artist scheduled to take centre stage at the Soufriere Mini-Stadium is St.
Lucian-based jazz arranger and composer Barbara Cadet.
It’s hard to argue with a message of hope this heartfelt, especially when it’s presented in a fresh, musical form.
But enough outta me—are you feeling Jah Cure’s latest endeavor?
Jah Cure has also recorded with what reads like a who’s who of the Reggae industry, including Mavado and memorable collabos with Sizzla like “Divide and Rule” and “King of This Jungle.” The phenomenal Jah Cure maintains his commitment to Reggae music, as clearly evidenced on “HOLD ON ME.” Ras Slick may be a newcomer to the U. (just 4 years), but he is no stranger to Reggae music.
Billed as an all-round Reggae entertainer, Ras Slick’s love of music has been visible all of his life.
Beres Hammond subsequently took Cure under his wing and began mentoring him and producing him in the studio. Jah Cure has topped the music charts numerous times, starting with “Longing For” and “To Your Arms of Love” from his fourth album TRUE REFLECTIONS; “Call on Me” and “Luv on a 2 Way Street” from THE UNIVERSAL CURE album as well as countless singles recorded for major independent producers.
